FREE BACK PAIN CHECKER
Understand your back-pain symptom pattern.
A short, non-diagnostic checker for lower-back, buttock and leg symptoms. It explains when a pattern may be local to the back, refer into the leg, or need a clinical assessment.

What back pain can feel like
Back pain can stay local to the lower back or be felt in the buttock or leg. How far symptoms travel, whether there is tingling or numbness, and whether strength has changed are useful details for a clinician — but they cannot diagnose a cause on their own.
When an online checker is not enough
Seek urgent help for new bladder or bowel changes, numbness around the genitals, anus or inner thighs, or severe/worsening symptoms affecting both legs. Significant trauma, fever, feeling very unwell, or rapidly worsening pain also deserve medical assessment.
What an MSK assessment may involve
An in-person clinician can discuss your symptoms and examine movement, strength and sensation. CareNearly can help you look for an available local MSK assessment after you have read your result.
